2. Semester

• Academic Skills (GER – C1 / 4SWS)

This course familiarises students with academic text types and lays the foundations in academic writing and presenting. General focus is on business and economics.

This is a mandatory module for students of International Business and Economics (second semester) and a prerequisite for Englisch UNIcert® IV.

3. Semester

• Englisch | UNIcert IV.1.1 | Academic Writing (CEFR – C2 / 4SWS)

This course familiarises students with academic text types and refines the academic writing skills needed to produce an academic paper, focusing on paper structure, style, formatting, conducting research, developing an argument, and avoiding plagiarism.

4. Semester

• English | UNIcert IV.2.1 | Exam Preparation (CEFR – C2 / 2SWS)

In this course, students will be prepared for the three parts of the UNIcert® IV exam (listening, reading and writing) using mock exams. These exams are integrated and production-orientated and UNIcert® exam regulations apply.

AND

• Englisch | UNIcert IV.2.2 | Presentations (CEFR – C2 / 2SWS)

In this course, students are prepared to hold an academic presentation with a discussion on a topic from their respective fields of study. UNIcert® exam regulations apply.

Certificate

Only on successful completion of all three UNIcert® IV courses can a final certificate be awarded.
