German: Placement test

Who is the test for?

The placement test will take place in person. From level A2 on, it is compulsory for those students of the first part of a course:

who have not previously attended a course at our Language Centre
who have not successfully completed the second course module of the preceding course

Important information:

The test is not for students who are currently taking German courses at the Language Centre.
The placement test can be repeated after 3 months at the earliest.
Existing online test results before the summer semester of 2024 are no longer valid!

Take the sample test.

Please note:

You have to book one of the dates in the course DaF | Placement Test
Bring your student ID or your enrolment certificate and your passport with you to your booked appointment.
Have your OVGU account (user name and password) ready.
You may not take the placement test without prior appointment booking and preparation.
